Andre’s Atelier
I met him at a flea market, an artist with a truly free spirit. He follows with a natural flow, doing whatever it takes to create.
Masks appear throughout his work. He buys prints of children who are always crying, and places masks over them.
He says this reflects our society. Inside, we are crying, but on the outside, we wear masks and hide.
When he speaks about wanting people to be more honest and more true to themselves, there is a deep sincerity in his eyes.
His masks, which look like clay, are very unique—you can even eat them.
They are made from flour, water, coffee grounds, and salt.
You can see his dislike of waste in the way he works. He finds inspiration in everything and everyone. Your freedom inspires me.
To Andre, with love.
